Welcome to The Philly Pledge

With so much uncertainty facing us all around COVID-19, there's one thing that we shouldn’t be uncertain about. And that's our willingness to extend a helping hand to those in need during times of crisis. After all, we ARE the City of Brotherly Love.

But knowing where to turn and how to help can be overwhelming and confusing. That's why we've done the research and found two causes that will help positively impact the areas of our community that need it the most during these tough times.

The First, PHL COVID-19, has been set up as a direct response to help the nonprofit sector continue to do what they do best - assist at risk community groups such as the elderly, disabled, homeless and economically disadvantaged through a range of essential social services.

The Second, Philabundance is the Delaware Valleys largest hunger relief organization, acquiring, rescuing and distributing food to help feed 90,000 people each week. 1 in 5 Philly residents faces food insecurity.

Philabundance rescues, purchases and accepts donated food, and distributed over 26 million pounds in 2019 through a network of over 350 member agencies.

As a city, we always band together. And no matter how far away we move in this world, Philadelphia is always home. Through thick and thin, wins and losses, championships or bust, we always come together in a time of need and leave no one behind.

PHL Covid-19 Response

PHL Covid-19 in partnership with United Way, Philadelphia Foundation & The City of Philadelphia have created this fund to rapidly deploy solutions and resources to help the nonprofit community navigate near - and long term effects of COVID-19 and ensure that critical resources remain available and can be readily accessed for those in the Greater Philadelphia community who need it most and are most disproportionately impacted.

This fund will rapidly provide grants toGreater Philadelphia organizations with a successful track record of serving at-risk populations such as the elderly, disabled, homeless and economically disadvantaged, in order to continue community safety nets such as food pantries and health services, and help with preparedness and protection such as hygiene supplies, access to accurate current information, and available services.
